  1. Shirley is an awesome geocacher. I need to get out to this area to hike. So many caches and amazing views.

    geocaching name:pacholik

    • Mike, so glad you stopped by! Yes, Shirley really is a great geocacher. Her numbers are impressive. I recognize your name from Geocaching.com. I’ll be sure to friend you. Happy caching!

  2. Tracy, it was great to meet you today. I did not know what I started when I introduced my mother to geocaching back in January 2004. Her first find was very close to where you took off in your helicopter today. It is now archived but it can be viewed by typing in GCCC3E. Now the Ventura Kids will be jealous and want to trade in their Jeep for a chopper!

    • Brian, it was fantastic meeting you and your mother today! You guys are good people!! Shirley told me that she hid her first geocache by Whiteman Airport. I will definitely look up her archived cache. In the meantime, spread your wings and get back in the air. No one should have a pilot’s license and not use it!

  3. It was her first FIND that was inside Whiteman airport. I put a picture of her holding it on her geocaching.com profile. That cache was named UASF AUX SQ. 35 (GCCC3E) after the squadron that was based there.
I wonder how long it took for someone to see your post and go find your cache? That Garmin Dakota 20 is one nice FTF prize!

Great profile piece today on Jack & Shirley! So nice to discover you, too. I’ve placed a great number of caches in Griffith Park and Hollywood, and I’m getting ready to place another series up but the helipad in the north end of the park. would be cool to see you fly in for an FTF. I am guessing by your handle, you are also a purate fan. Sorry to have had you miss my PIrate themed event last fall GC1P7PE, but there are still quite a few treasured out there to be found.

    Cheers!
    -Molly

    • Molly, so glad you stopped by. It would be fun to land at the helipad on top of Mount Lee… I would have to get permission to land there though as it is private property. I do fly by the Hollywood sign just about everyday! Hmm, I’m thinking Griffith Park is good for geocaching by horseback. I do love pirate themes, sorry to have missed your event. Actually, because I have a commercial pilot’s license, that would make me a “captain” in a helicopter that I am “pilot in command” of. And my last name is Morgan… Captain T. Morgan. I threw my first initial in there. I’ll be looking for you on Geocaching.com.

      Happy caching! ;)

  5. I’ll be back again, thanks for the info.
